Berryville, VA – The Clarke County Education Foundation (CCEF), in collaboration with Clarke County Public Schools (CCPS), is proud to announce their upcoming Clarke County Family STEM Night, which will take place on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 5:30 PM at Clarke County High School.
Designed to ignite curiosity and bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world innovation, this year’s theme centers on “Today and Tomorrow’s Trustworthy Technology and AI.” The event – free of charge to local youth and their families – serves as a cornerstone of the CCEF’s mission to enhance opportunities for students across Clarke County.
The evening features a lineup of fun and activities, headlined by Keynote Speaker Dr. Christina Liaghati, MITRE’s Trustworthy & Secure AI Department Manager and MITRE Lead for the NIST AI Economic Security Centers. Dr. Liaghati will visit and engage with students at Clarke County Public Schools throughout the day on April 21; in the evening at the Family STEM Night, she will share her expertise and resources for trustworthy and secure AI with local families. Attendees can also explore dozens of interactive exhibits led by local organizations, featuring engineering challenges and scientific experiments.
“Our goal is to move beyond the textbook and show our youth that their STEM education has immediate, real-world impact on the lives of their families and community members,” says Dr. Camrynn “Cammie” Fausey, CCEF’s Director of STEM Education and Innovation. “By bringing families and industry leaders together, we are building a sustainable STEM pipeline that empowers every student in Clarke County to become a future innovator.”
Families can enjoy a festive atmosphere with dinner and dessert from local food trucks, a scavenger hunt, free “techy” gifts for kids, and raffle prize draws. CCPS students will also receive tickets for free treats at school for their participation.
Clarke County Family STEM Night is made possible through the generous support of the CCEF’s lead sponsors for the event, C2 Management (a leader in specialty asset recovery and electronics recycling) and Earth Retention (an engineering and construction firm specializing in innovative soil stabilization and earth retention systems). The CCEF is grateful to both organizations for their strong support of our community’s STEM education.
CCEF is a non-profit organization dedicated to generating and distributing resources to enrich teaching, inspire learning, and enhance opportunities for all students and educators in Clarke County.
