Front Royal, VA — The Clarke County Education Foundation (CCEF) is excited to announce the success of its annual charity golf fundraiser, held on October 11, 2024. This year’s event, hosted at the scenic Shenandoah Valley Golf Club, raised an impressive $33,000 to support educational initiatives within Clarke County Public Schools. Community leaders, local businesses, and dedicated supporters came together for a day filled with golf, networking, and philanthropy.
More than 152 golfers participated in the tournament, enjoying a beautiful day on the green while supporting a vital cause. All proceeds will directly benefit CCEF programs, including scholarships for graduating seniors, classroom innovation grants, and technology upgrades across Clarke County’s schools.
“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to making this year’s event such a success,” said Beth Williams, Executive Director of CCEF. “The turnout exceeded our expectations, and it’s inspiring to see the community come together to support our students’ futures.”
Beyond the tournament, participants enjoyed a variety of fun activities, including a “Hit It to Win It” game on the putting green, sponsored by local businesses, and a 50/50 raffle. On the course, golfers had the chance to join in several engaging challenges. A highlight of the day was the Clarke County High School (CCHS) Robotics Club’s booth, where golfers could use a “robotic club” for a near-perfect shot in exchange for donations. Additionally, members of the CCHS Student Council Association (SCA) donned the school mascot costumes and hosted a “Roll the Dice” game, which offered golfers an advantage by moving their tee closer to the hole.
The day wrapped up with an awards ceremony, recognizing standout teams and individual players for their performance on the course. Special congratulations to the first place team, HoneyWay Realty: Terry Mumaw, Barret Evans & Tommy Evans. Second place was earned by team CCHS SCA: Shawn Fiddler, Clay Ferrell, Matt Bass & Wes Schoeb.
CCEF extends a heartfelt thank you to its major sponsors, including Walter and Walter Insurance Agency, HoneyWay LLC, Right at Home, Braddock Wealth Management of Wells Fargo Advisors, Next Home Realty Select, Rappahannock Electric Company, Bank of Clarke County Foundation, Williams Inspection & Radon Services, Buttonwood Wealth, Kyle Jenkins Plumbing, Navy Federal Credit Union, Yount, Hyde and Barbour, and Ian Lobo, Ameriprise Financial.
